COIL ZIPPERS

Coil refers to the teeth composition and is available in a variety of finishes and on various tapes. Teeth are shaped from polyester (formerly nylon) in a spiral (coil) fashion and stitched over the zipper tape's corded edge. The slider is specially engineered to work with the corresponding teeth. A variety of pulls are available to attach to the slider for utilitarian and decorative use.

Classic Visible Coil Series are the industry standard and the most common zipper available today. Visible means the coil teeth are on top of the tape and visible unless covered by a placket or fly. The Classics are stocked in solid colors with a standard pull. Sizing includes:

• #3 - Classic Teeth – (4 mm across)
• #5 - Classic Plus Teeth – (6 mm across)
• #8 - Heavy Classic Teeth – (7 mm across)
• #10 - X-Heavy Classic Teeth – (10 mm across)

Specialty Visible Coil Series features novelty teeth and tapes. Stock selections include:

• #3 - Teeth – (4 mm across) – on a Sheer Knit Tape
• #5 - Teeth – (6 mm across) – on a Horizontal Stripe Tape
• #5 - Teeth – (6 mm across) – in a Pattern Print

Metallic Visible Coil Series features metallic teeth and tapes. Stock selections include:

• #5 – Metallic Teeth – (6 mm across) – on Metallic Lamé Tape
• #5 – Metallic Teeth – (6 mm across) – on Polyester Tape

Classic Invisible Coil Series exceeds the industry standard and are a quick and easy installation. Invisible means the coil teeth are on the back of the tape and not visible except for the tiny tear-drop pull. The Classics are stocked in solid colors with a standard pull. Sizing includes:

• #4 - Teeth – (5 mm across) – on Polyester Tape
• #5 - Teeth – (6 mm across) – on Polyester Tape

Specialty Invisible Coil Series features novelty tapes. Some are affectionately known as the "Visible Invisible" – the tapes are too beautiful to hide. The teeth are hidden, just like a Classic Invisible, but the zipper is top-stitched on for maximum exposure. Stock selections include:

• #4- Teeth – (5 mm across) – on Sheer Knit Tape
• #4 - Teeth – (5 mm across) – on Satin Tape
• #4 - Teeth – (5 mm across) – on Floral Jacquard Tape

Specialty Reverse Coil Series features novelty tapes. A reverse coil zipper is a normally visible coil where the pull is attached to the back side, thus making the back the front. It is flatter than an invisible zipper and meant to be applied to the outside of the project. Stock selections include:

• #5 - Teeth – (6 mm across) – on Matte Water Resistant Tape
• #3 - Teeth – (4 mm across) – on Sheer Scallop Lace Tape
